Almost all grown up!
Today because it’s special, made me recollect our first meeting, the first 15 minutes. In that little window of time, you saw me. The ‘me’ that most people only long after got to see.
I’m usually picky when I choose my friends, but with you there was no hesitation, it was purely an instant attachment because I guess I saw a little bit of me in you.
Our shared zest for life and adventure is evident by our sudden outbursts of running along the street, the hunt for the wild boar in Kitulgala, the hike, the discussions, the elevator rides, Machan and the recent near death experience.
Also I must take this opportunity to say that if it wasn’t for your “you better not date him, because I’ll be mighty pissed” threat I might not have realized that the big cuddly cookie is the best thing in the world .I hope he’s not listening to this, otherwise his ego will inflate and we’d have to giggle about it as usual.
Just before I end this little note, oh and don’t worry this tragic blog post isn’t your present. I just want to say that I see you becoming a success one day. Maybe in the field of engineering, wire connecting, bridge or gadget building, or maybe as a wonderful husband, father, brother and friend. Whichever direction you’re bound, I wish you the best and an inspiring twenty-one year ahead.
Appy burpday!

And he’s only 6 months. I’m going to call him ‘super-nephew’.

A few months ago after much laughter and lunch with Cookie, we decided to walk back to my office. The quickest route is this very narrow road, which has vehicles whizzing past with vengeance. So the only logical thing to do is walk one in front of the other. So here I was happily trotting in front of Cookie and suddenly out of nowhere my friend appears, stops his car smack bang in the middle of road, blocking the entire lane and shouts at me to get in.
What did I do?
I darted across the road, got into the car and we took off. Once in I started rambling to him in my excited, arms flapping manner, only to be interrupted by a beep. The text was from a mildly amused Cookie asking me what he was supposed to do now that I’ve left him stranded on the side of the road.
Well this is not the only incident where I’ve done something strange and every single time I do something an otherwise normal girlfriend wouldn’t dare commit, I wonder why he’s still with me.
I guess it’s a strange kind of love, one only the two of us can understand.

It’s hardly a good movie when you watch it through the gaps between your fingers.
Well that’s pretty much how I took in the slashing arms, the dogs gnawing on a child’s leg and the never-ending story of the very human super heroes. I hated it as much as I hated Superman (Brandon Roth was an utter disappointment) and Hancock (cocked up too much to be even remotely interesting) but the boys were pretty much superdeliciouslyexcited and even called it the most amazing movie, after 300. I pity them for their absolute insensitivity or maybe I should pity my inner self for being unwilling to put up with violence. But with a pained expression on my face I do admit that it is beautifully crafted in those dark, dreary composition that I thought only Tim Burton was capable of producing. Anyhow it was crap and I won’t recommend it to anyone who has a heart.
I’m also at this moment listening to Pokey yammer about the different levels that we live in, the metamorphosis of our atomic (insert word you think is fitting) big bang and the fight between the forces, all in an attempt to make me understand that Watchmen is a movie to be appreciated!

in Tuscany…
to the sound of wind chimes. ..
to a kiss from my Sayang…
to the chores of family life…
to the laughter of friends…
to a day when it will all come true…
